The Thomas group welcomes Alessandro Bismuto and Peter Dabell who have both joined the group to start their PhDs. Both Alessandro and Peter are part of the Criticat CDT programme. Alessandro is a joint student in collaboration with Dr Michael Cowley and Peter is a joint student in collaboration with Dr Andrew Lawrence.

A new £10M Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) is to be opened, split between the St. Andrews, Edinburgh and Heriott-Watt Schools of Chemistry. CRITICAT (Critical Resource Catalysis) will offer >70 positions for state-of-the-art PhD training in catalytic science.

Farewell to Dominik and our undergraduate students

Dominik has finished his post-doc in the group and has moved back to Germany before starting his new job with Roche in Basel next month. We hope that he doesn’t miss the scottish whisky too much, and wish him the best of luck in his new job and all future endeavours.
Amy, Fern and Fran have also finished their final year Masters projects in the group. We wish them the best of luck in their exams and their future studies/jobs.
Thanks to all for making the past year so enjoyable, and all four will be missed members of Thomas group.
